Panasonic Toughbook CF-U1 Ultra belongs to that class of devices called “rugged” or whose construction is such that a strong resistance to shock, significant variations in temperature and liquid. In this case, the device meets the requirements of MIL-STD-810G and civil IP65 against dust, shock and water infiltration and is built with a sturdy magnesium frame. Toughbook CF-U1 Ultra comes with a TFT display with 5.6-inch diagonal touch screen that can return images at a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. The panel has a brightness level of 6,000 nits in order to be legible even in unfavorable lighting conditions. The second generation of the Toughbook CF-U1 Panasonic Transflective Plus uses technology to dramatically improve the degree of reflection of sunlight on the surface of the display and optimize the sharpness of the screen.

The device also has an integrated vision sensor that detects the level of sunlight and adapts the screen’s backlight, improving visibility and therefore the efficiency of the device. The processor is an Intel Atom Z530 1.6-GHz frequency assisted by 2 GB of RAM and a solid-state drive (SSD – Solid State Drive) 64 GB. The operating system is Microsoft Windows 7, with downgrade to Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3.
