Lenovo has announced an exciting new form factor similar to that of TouchBook of Always Innovating. It’s called IdeaPad U1 Hybrid and is actually a multitouch tablet by 11.6 inches (1366 × 768px) inserted into the frame from a traditional laptop. When connected to its dock (the chassis), the U1 uses an Intel CULV, while in tablet mode uses a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets.
The technical details of the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid boasts 4GB of RAM (512Mb in tablet mode) and up to 128GB SSD drive (16Gb when in tablet mode). Among other features the 2 USB ports, eSATA ports, VGA and HDMI, Card Reader 4-in-1, and a 1.3 Mpixel webcam. Double the operating system: Windows 7 laptop mode, and a customized version of Linux when you work in tablet mode (probably the same as in SmartBook Skylight).
As for autonomy, estimates that Lenovo laptop mode, the U1 comes with 8 hours of charge, reduction to 5 when to use the tablet only (with shipping 3G). The whole thing weighs 1.7kg, 1kg and 0.7kg dock the screen / tablet.
