It is shortly to the debut of the new CPUs “And Sandy Bridge” Intel and as usual began to leak the first photos of the offerings of the motherboard manufacturers. Among these is MSI, which proposes a new x79-based motherboard with LGA-2011: Big Bang XPower II.
It certainly can not say that the Taiwanese manufacturer lacks ideas to point out its products. Tab instead of the normal oversized heatsinks Big Bang series of small sculptures are aluminum shapes not quite peaceful: a rotating Gatling gun on the power system, six large-caliber bullets on the south-bridge and the one that looks like a grenade on the north-bridge.
More sober and decidedly different approach for Gigabyte, who in his G1.Assassin 2 is merely putting on display on the south-bridge heat sink in the shape of … gun. The new chipset supports the new x79 series CPU with 4 and 6-core Intel, which for the first time will break the barrier of 4GHz frequencies in turbo mode (already broken a record with AMD’s Bulldozer core FX and FX-8120 -8150). The debut of the new motherboards and x79 Intel Core I7 is scheduled for November 14.
