New Intel Core i7-970 is the first processor of this series, which is equipped with six cores. Each of the cores is clocked at 3.2 GHz. There are also 12 MB L3 cache, while the previous models of the Core i7 series only has 8 MB L3 cache feature. The new CPU will also be produced in the new 32-nanometer process. The rest of the Core i7 CPUs are made against a 45-nanometer process.
Intel’s Core i7-970 is the second six-core processor for desktop PCs, the Intel Core i7-980X for the Extreme Edition in March brings to the market. The Core i7-980X, according to the updated price list is still offered at a price of 999 thousand U.S. dollars
