Below is User review for Alienware M17x :
Ok, first off, it was a great machine. I do not really like Windows 7 Ultimate, but anything is better than Windows Vista (all versions!). If I had a choice, it will XP (Pro or Media Center). But that’s not Dell Alienware or mistake, it’s Microsoft.
I’ve been wanting to buy a fully dressed out Alienware machine for about 7 years now. So, I got the biggest and baddest machines they can produce for me. Fully loaded: QX9300, 1333 MHz 8GB RAM, 2x 256GB SSDs in RAID 0, 2x ATI HD 4870 with 1GB of RAM each and BlueRay Burner. 1200P resolution that looks awesome.
It does have a big down side. With all this high-performance hardware comes weight, this weight! I can manage your weight, but certainly not for everyday travel, you’ll break your back. Even very large power brick, I’ve never seen one that big.
There are also multimedia keys, I do not like to touch the strip when I was not responding fast enough and I never know whether the actions taken or not (volume up / down, Wireless card on / off, etc.)
The only thing I have like the option to change the sound card. This will be a perfect 11 out of 10 if it has a SoundBlaster X-Fi on-board. Sound card sound good now, but it was not made for full on gaming.
If you get it, enjoy it, you’ll be happy for sure.
