Acer Travelmate 8172 Intel Core i3-330UM

The Acer TravelMate 8172 is a subnotebook, which has an angular design and ULV Intel processor designed apparently for business customers who want to carry around any bulky 16″ with it.

The Travelmate 8172 has a 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. First of all multi-taskers should benefit from the high resolution for a 11 .

To run Office applications is also fast enough to be able, in a Travelmate Intel Core installed i3-33UM ULV processor, which is based on the large core i3 brother, however, in order Electricity Conservation clocked lower. Nevertheless, the small processor counts much faster than the usual Atom processor. So far there are only a few ultra portables with this processor solution, including the Alienware M11x gaming Subnotebook (with Core i5/i7 UM).

For business people are the Travelmate 8172 installed a few extra gadgets. These include a fingerprint reader and a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for increased security of the notebook. Also included are wireless, Ethernet and Bluetooth are available. The port range is completed by 3x USB 2.0, VGA, card reader and audio-out.

The system runs on the Windows 7 Professional OS, which can be downgraded to Windows XP Professional.
